She has dedicated her life helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, insight and evidence-based care. Her journey into the field of mental health was driven by deep belief in the power of human connection and the resilience of the human spirit. This is evident in her work with all her clients. Shay has 14 years of experience doing psychotherapy and other areas of the field of Psychology and Clinical Social Work. She had the privilege of guiding clients through personal transformation healing and self-discovery. Shahalonie received her Bachelor of Arts in Disability Studies in 2014 with a minor in Special Education from Aurora University. She also received her Masters from Aurora Univeristy. She is licensed in the State of Illinois. She also has extensive background working with various populations, from adults and children with intellectual disabilities to individuals diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and other childhood disorders. She has also worked with children, adolescents, and young adults.
Whether working with individuals, couples or families, she strives to create a safe space where clients feel seen, heard and empowered.
Shay believes that mental health is not just about managing struggles-it's about cultivating well-being, self-awareness, and fulfilling life. She has a natural ability to understand clients emotions beyond words, creating a safe and judgement-free-space.
She believes every individual is unique, so she tailors her methods to fit their personal needs, blending cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-based care. She has the ability to go deep into the client's emotional field where causes are identified not just symptoms.
With her deep intuition, empathy, and a natural ability to bring light to the hidden emotions, she uncovers a deeper truth. She recognizes in every client story those kernels of truth helping clients re-write their stories with hope and strength.
