Anxiety often whispers to us about the future—what might happen, what we might lose, what we can’t control. It pulls us out of our bodies and into stories that haven’t happened yet.
But healing begins when we pause.
As I often tell my patients, the present moment is your home. When we return to our breath, to the sensations in our body, to the warmth of sunlight or the weight of our feet on the ground—we remember: we are safe right now.
Managing anxiety isn’t about pushing it away. It’s about making space for it without letting it run the show. It's about befriending our nervous system through rituals of grounding, such as breathwork, movement, journaling, and connection with trusted others.
Ask yourself: What am I feeling? What do I need? What would soothe me right now?
You don’t have to figure everything out. You just have to return—to yourself, one moment at a time.
